Music Reviews In A Minute: The Roots - How I Got Over

This week, 8thlight introduced Music Reviews In A Minute as our new feature to the blog and now we are back with another installment. This time, we are reviewing The RootsHow I Got Over.

Again, to keep you familiar with the process, we rated each song on the album on a scale of one to five stars to come up with the final score (as we will do with all other album reviews from here on out, for both current and classic albums). Furthermore - in fairness, album intros, outros, interludes, and skits are not included in the ratings.

The set of red stars are my ratings and the set of black stars are 8thlight’s.

The Foreign Exchange Preforming Daykeeper @AmoebaMusic (Video)

Phonte of Little Brother fame, made another visit to Amoeba Records. This time he brought along his Foreign Exchange friends to perform in the San Francisco record shop. Thankfully the talented Ms. James of About Her Films was on hand to grab some beautiful bean footage!

Stay tuned, there might be more to come.

The Roots - How I Got Over (Cover Art & Track Listing)

According to The Roots official website, Okayplayer.com, this is a tentative track list that doesn't include any skits or interludes that are still in the works.
Def Jam posted a tracklist this morning on their site but it was missing a few details. Here is what we have and even this not complete as the group just finished the interludes last night.
We dont have the name for the bonus cut but it was produced by ?uesto and again features STS, among others. ?uesto samples Major Lazer on the track. There are supposedly three or four interludes which will have their own titles. The singles are "Dear God," "The Fire," and "Doin It Again." "The Fire" is the song the group made for their performance at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
