A Dope Hip-Hop Documentary You Should See
Copyright Criminals, a documentary about digital samplings head-on collision with copyright law, features many of hip-hop musics celebrated figures—including Public Enemy, De La Soul, the Beastie Boys, and Digital Underground—as well as emerging artists from record labels Definitive Jux, Rhymesayers, Ninja Tune, and more. The documentary also provides an in-depth look at artists who have been sampled, such as former James Brown drummer Clyde Stubblefield, as well as commentary by another highly sampled musician, funk legend George Clinton.
The documentary will make it's television premier on PBS in January of 2010, but they have been having community screenings throughout the country during October & November. Sadly, Pittsburgh gets the shaft once again for the cool stuff. You can check to see if there will be a neighborhood screening near you:

Athletes & Children Out Of Wedlock
I love ESPN's Outside The Lines series. It's similar to CBS' 60 Minutes but from a sports perspective. ESPN rarely allows for their youtube videos to be embedded on other sites, so when I saw this one was embeddable I had to post it here.
Although the focus is on athletes the issue is obviously one that is societal and just becomes more newsworthy because the amount of money these particular people have made during their careers.
