God Of War 1 & 2 Coming To PS3
This is definitely great news for me. Although I love games I have not had a console for years and haven't had access to anyone else's for equally as long. This past weekend I got to finally play the original God of War on the PS2, myself. It's still dope! I always planned on eventually getting a PlayStation 3 and I wanted to cop all of the God Of Wars, but I was told that the first one wasn't compatible with the PS3 . . . until now!

Sony Finally Announces PS3 Slim For $299
Earlier Tuesday, Kmart.com jumped the gun on the announcement and accidentally posted an ad on its home page that revealed a price cut to the "old" 80GB and 160GB PS3s to $299 and $399 respectively and hinted at the impending arrival of the new PS3 Slim.
In Cologne, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai performed the unveiling, taking the stage and announcing the PS3 was "getting a new model" and that indeed it was called the PS3 Slim.
The Slim is hitting stores the first week in September and will cost $299.99 (or for those who live in other regions, 299 euros or 29980 yen). Hirai says it has the same features and functions as the "old" PS3 but is 33 percent smaller, 36 percent lighter, and comes with a 120 GB hard drive. - CNET.com

Guess What I Got In The Mail?
Remember five minutes ago when I was proselytizing the virtues of Google Voice? Well at the end of that blog I mentioned free business cards that they were giving away to promote the service.
*I had to redact my "professional" e-mail address. lol
Thanks for stopping by,

P.S. How dope would it be to hold my new business cards in this card case?

Random Geekery: Cassette Tape USB Hub
The Cassette Tape 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub is identical in size and form to the iconic audio cassette tape. Every detail, down to rotating ribbon wheels, has been painstakingly copied. In fact, these USB Hubs fit perfectly inside any cassette tape case. They cannot, however, play any old Boz Scaggs. But, it will add an additional four USB ports to your computer, which is undoubtedly more useful.
Includes a 4-foot USB cable to connect the hub to your computer. Compatible with Macs, PCs, and Commodore 64s retro-fitted with USB ports. - vat19.com

Google Voice/Are You Cell Phone Worthy?
I'm a Google fanboy. I don't say this with any embarrassment or anything like that. I'm just acknowledging the facts. I use google for my e-mail, instant messaging, blogging, browser and now for my home phone service . . . well, kinda.
I recently received my invite to Google Voice and this is soooo dope! It logs all of my calls online. I can listen to any voice mails online without going through endless menu options! Plus, Google Voice gives me the ability to screen calls and take the call in the middle of someone leaving a message. You can even record your calls! How dope is that? There also doesn't appear to be a limit on how long they will save your voice mail messages. You don't even have to have the calls forwarded to your phone if you don't wish. You can simply use it as a voice mailbox.
This is going to definitely save some of my daytime minutes.
As of this moment I only have one phone and that's a cell phone with a Pittsburgh area code. I decided to use my google voice number as a virtual land line. When I was back home I was without a cell phone for a minute and during that time I made a friend who had recently moved back to Pittsburgh from New York. Unfortunately my friend didn't have a land line and her only phone was a cell phone with a New York area code. So, I was stuck having to have her call me and let's just say she wasn't the best with keeping in touch. You know who you are! lol
Unlike my friend *cough*, I'm going to be embrace my Chicago brethren without cell phones! Frankly, I think I will be giving out my cell phone number less and less. Thanks to this, the cell will probably be reserved for close friends that I see and talk to a ton. I'm even throwing the Google voice number on my resume so I won't miss any important calls due to cell phone issues.
Thanks for stopping by,
8
P.S. Google's giving away 50,000 free sets of business cards showing off your google number. You don't even have to pay for shipping! I just received my confirmation e-mail stating that mine are on the way so you still have a chance to pass out some free business cards at the next job fair or networking event you attend.
P.P.S. Damn that was a long ass post script.

Palm Pre & Verizon: It's Official . . . Kinda.
Back in June I mentioned how The Wall Street Journal & PC World were talking about the strong possibility of the Palm Pre making it's way to Verizon's network in 2010.
This time CNET.com is reporting that Verizon's chief operating officer, Denny Strigl has already acknowledged during a conference call with investors that the phone is indeed coming to Verizon.

Kooley High - Kooley Is High (Music Video)
This song is off of the mixtape of the same name, Kooley Is High.
"The concept for the "Kooley is High" Music Video was to transport the viewer into the world of Kooley High. A world where the past, present, and future are part of the whole, living in harmony. We wanted to push the limits of color, film and sound to create something as unique as Kooley High themselves." - Director, Napoleon Wright II
